CONTROLS:

- MOUSE: MOVE.

- W,A,S,D: AIM AND SHOOT.

One day, I was playing Platypus, a side-scrolling shoot 'em up game that allowed using the mouse to control the ship. I thought about applying the same mechanics in a game but giving the "ship" the ability to shoot in eight directions. That's what I did for this game.

It's technically a twin-stick shooter. I know I could have used W, A, S, D or the arrow keys to move and the mouse to aim and shoot, like other games in this genre, but... well, I just wanted to try something different here. Also, using keys to aim and shoot keeps the trajectory of the bullets aligned with the gun, which looks aesthetically pleasing.

I think it works well for this game. But because of the way GDevelop handles the mouse, I had to implement some things differently from what I've seen in Platypus.

Hints:

1 - Activating the armor refills your Health. Save it to use when your Health is low.

2 - The flame shot destroys enemy bullets. 

3 - Bomb bullets and boomerangs destroy armored enemies. 

4 - There are slightly different endings depending on your score and whether you kill the boss or not.

5 - Using a Continue resets your current score, although your high score is preserved.
